A strong wind behind Esimit Europa 2: winner of the Giraglia Rolex Cup

A strong wind behind Esimit Europa 2: winner of the Giraglia Rolex CupWatchword: win! And victory it was.

After 23 hours and 9 seconds of intense competition, battling adverse weather conditions and adversaries of undoubted calibre, Esimit Europa 2 was the first to cross the winning line in the Giraglia Rolex Cup keelboat regatta, one of the most important and prestigious Mediterranean regattas. Organised by the Italian Yacht Club in conjunction with the Yacht Club de France, the Société Nautique de Saint Tropez, the Sanremo Yacht Club and Rolex, this year, the Giraglia Rolex Cup involved 248 boats, with 17 nations represented over 245 miles.
Passing Aregai about 10.30 AM and arriving in Sanremo at 11.05 AM, Esimit Europa 2 won in real time, also winning the Rolex Trophy and the Lavainville Trophy for the first yacht past the line, and the Beppe Croce Trophy for the first yacht to round the famous Giraglia ’rock’.
So Esimit Europa 2 took all the honours: backed by the Russian giant Gazprom and under the aegis of the European Union, the boat took part as an ambassador of the European Energy movement.

On board, it had a prestigious partner: Rudy Project. For the entire duration of the race, in fact, the crew wore Zyon Sailing model sunglasses with side shields, designed to protect the eyes from lateral reflection, wind and water spray. In addition, the exclusive photochromic and polarised ImpactX lenses, which are guaranteed to be indestructible for life, eliminate reflection due to glare from the water, increase contrast and the perception of depth and make it easier to read the boat instruments more clearly.

To solve his sight problems, Igor Simcic, on the other hand, fitted his Zyon sunglasses with ImpactRX lenses, the prescription/sun lenses developed using ImpactX technology and perfected with optical correction. ImpactRX lenses allow you to see from near and far, without interrupting your sailing activity. They guarantee a high level of safety and are guaranteed for life against breaks and cracks. Images are clearer and more defined, the rainbow effect is limited and visual comfort is higher.

Zyon Sailing sunglasses are made with stainless steel metal components to prevent saline corrosion and have an adjustable floating lanyard which allows you to keep your glasses secured tightly to your head, even when you are working flat out, and so that your glasses will float if they fall into the sea.
